Obviously, exercising while pregnant is not for the purpose of losing weight. In fact, exercising while pregnant has three benefits:
1. You'll keep your heart and muscles in shape.
2. You'll be more comfortable during the nine months of pregnancy.
3. There is some evidence that labor will be shorter. Who doesn't want that, right?

Exercising while pregnant is different from regular exercise. Here are the 5 tips for exercising while pregnant:
1. Talk with your doctor. Your doctor will be able to give you a safe heart rate range for you to stay within. Also your doctor will know if you have an "at risk" pregnancy. If you do have an "at risk" pregnancy, exercising while pregnant may not be possible. At the very least, you may need to modify your exercise routine.
2. Stay hydrated. This is imperative for both you and your baby. Keep water with you at all times.
3. Avoid overheating. This is especially true during your first six months of pregnancy.
4. Take an exercise class designed for pregnant woman. This way you'll be with other pregnant woman and you'll be confident that the exercises have been designed for exercising while pregnant.
5. Adapt to your new center of balance. As your belly grows, you will find your center of gravity changing. This may or may not affect exercising while pregnant, but you need to be aware of it and may necessary adjustments.
